The main advantage of such an amazing branded creation is certainly a perfect chaos of numbers and discs. And, please, do not expect that its dial will be as strict and balanced as you can find in the Lange Zeitwerk new design watches by A. Lange & Sohne . Instead of this, the new Academia Mathematical Concept Watch No. 4 is equipped with four independent disks showing the time in a strange, but eventually, quite a convenient way. Typically, the time is indicated by four interrelated numbers in the XX:XX format, but this outstanding luxury watch features four completely independent jumping numerals located on the central axis of the dial. The uppermost aperture at the 12 o'clock position displays hours. Its first numeral appears thanks to a small jumping disc with 0 and 1 numbers. Another numeral that complements the hour indication appears on a large disk with numbers from 0 to 9. The minutes aperture sits right below the hour one. It also displays the time by 2 discs: one is graduated from 0 to 5 and the other - from 0 to 9. In this way, the time presented in the digital way is easy to read. However, you can be sure this is all pure mechanics. Moreover, 4 numerals are not printed on the disks – they are their integral parts that you can see through the tinted sapphire plate.
Each Academia Mathematical Concept Watch comes in a 42.5 x 11.90 mm case made of 18 karat rose gold. Its intermediate ring is made of blackened titanium decorated with a key element of most DeWitt high-end luxury watches for men and women, in particular, hottest new watches, known as an «imperial column» pattern. The bezel is adorned with just a set of words and the brand's logo. Although these inscriptions do not affect the integrity of the external appearance, their absence would probably create a more elegant and sophisticated design. The Academia Mathematical luxury watch is equipped with a black alligator leather strap closed by a triple-folding buckle crafted from rose gold. In addition, this piece of DeWitt brand new watches features a transparent sapphire case back that allows to enjoy the work of the beautifully decorated mechanism. It is based on the in-house DeWitt caliber originally made to power the classic hands, but eventually modified to drive jumping discs. This hand-assembled automatic movement with the central rotor is signed and partially skeletonized. It consists of 384 components and beats at the frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Its power reserve is approximately 48 hours. The cost of each Academia Mathematical Concept luxury watch is 188,000 CHF.
